Shoot Your Shot!

On August 17th, 2019, The Derrick Michael Applon Foundation partnered with The Potter’s House of Fort Worth to host the Inaugural V3, 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament.

V3 personifies the bold declaration of Julius Caesar following a victorious battle, “Veni, Vidi, Vici” which means, “I came, I saw, I conquered. This is also how Derrick strategized in life, especially on the court! His motto was, “Fear None”—and he did just that.

It was only fitting to carry his legacy forward by hosting a basketball tournament that would bring the heat as well as benefit others. Through generous donations and contributions, along with the invaluable partnership of The Potter’s House of Fort Worth’s Iron Men’s ministry, two educational scholarships will be awarded in May 2020.
